Havre Area Chamber committee brings doctor to discuss RAVE Tuesday

By Ron VandenBoom

The Business Development Committee of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce has invited Dr. Richard Donoven, a professor at Montana Tech in Butte, to speak on RAVE, the Rocky Mountain Agile Virtual Enterprise a business-to-business e-commerce management system that reinvents the traditional way business is conducted.

The Tuesday meeting pertains to HB-307 which appropriates $400,000 for development of the program.

The meeting will be held in the back meeting room at 15 West at noon tomorrow. There is no cost to attend the meeting, but a no-host lunch will be provided.

RAVE brings together vastly different companies to achieve and sustain competitive advantage while enabling them to act as a highly integrated and collaborative organization. The RAVE project will create an electronic network linking communities between the high-tech manufacturing sector and the Montana University System. The network will facilitate development of a system for resource sharing among the participating companies and provide essential training to enable these companies to form agile enterprises that can compete effectively in national and international markets.

The public is invited to hear about the new method of business.
