Havre Tire Inc. opened Monday, April 16, in the old Jerry Noble Tires location in Havre.
Bill Mangold of Havre and Dale Cornell of Harlem purchased the business, which had been closed by Jerry Noble Tires since the end of February.
Cornell said they will basically have the same operation, with some new lines of tires along with some of the old lines, and will also continue with service such as alignments and brake work. He said they will have extended hours, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, with after hours service also available. Cornell said they will be trying to provide a little better service to the agricultural community.
Lance Sheppard, who is managing the operation, said they are just getting their feet off the ground with the business right now. He said they have a smaller staff right now, with two of the Jerry Noble employees when it closed and another who had worked there before. Sheppard said they will probably need to expand the staff more once the business picks up again.
Sheppard also said the operations are basically the same, with a few new lines of tires with the old, including Kelly, Maxxim and Centennials.
"Quite a handful of different tires," he said.
Cornell said they are planning to hold a grand opening later this year, but a date hasn't been chosen yet.
