HELENA Havre golfer Nick Obie sat six strokes out of first place after shooting a first-round 80 for the Blue Ponies at the Helena Invitational golf tournament Thursday at Green Meadows Golf Course.
Havre is fifth in the team standings, tied with C.M. Russell. Billings Senior is in first place, followed by Billings Skyview, Flathead and Billings West.
Kevin Harada is a shot behind Obie at 81, and Troy Toner fired an 83. Other Havre golfers competing include Trent Normandy, who shot an 86, and Matt Felt, who scored a 97.
The two-day tournament continues today.
