GREAT FALLS Havre's Crystal Pyrak was unbeaten through three matches, lifting the Blue Ponies' girls team to a 3-1 record and second place at the Great Falls Invitational tennis tournament Friday and Saturday.
Pyrak was just two games short of a fourth win before rain ended the tournament. She led an opponent from Billings West 5-1 before the weather set in.
Terrance Wells won all four of his matches to help lead Havre to a 1-2-1 record in the boys' tournament and a tie for third place overall with Billings West.
In the girls' tournament, Havre received three victories from Samantha Shrauger in singles play. Breyon Briese and Samantha Velk teamed together for a 3-1 record in doubles, as did Jennifer Gorder and Ryan Hamilton.
Havre's Taylor Donaldson went undefeated for the Ponies, but she recorded all three wins by forfeit. The one match she was scheduled to compete in was wiped out by the bad weather.
Tyler Croft and Daine Solomon led the Havre boys' effort in doubles with a 3-1 record.
