Michels, Heberly shine at Top 10

GLASGOW Lashae Michels won two events and was part of Havre's victorious 400 relay team to pace the Ponies at the Glasgow Top 10 track and field meet Tuesday.

Havre's boys team showed a great deal of depth and talent in the running events. Among the Havre feats was a meet record-tying performance by Steve Heberly in the 100.

Heberly's time of 11.0 seconds tied the record, and he was followed in the event by teammate Adam Landgraf, who finished second with a time of 11.28.

Heberly was joined on the winner's stand by teammate Grant Roman, who claimed the win in the 200.

Havre's 400 and 1,600 relays were both victorious as well.

Placing third for Havre's boys were Joe Roman (400), Chris Springer (800) and Brian Derosa (110 hurdles). Garrett Watson was fourth in the 1,600.

In the girls' meet, Michels won the triple jump and long jump and was the anchor leg on the 400 relay.

Alyssa Matter was first in the 110 hurdles, second in the 100 and ran the first leg of the 400 relay.

Jillian Brough was second in the 800, and Amy Ranes was second in the high jump.

Jen Peterson finished third in the 1,600, Katie Malsam was third in the javelin, and Jayla McPherson placed third in the shot put. Havre's 1,600 relay also placed third.

Alicia Rundquist placed fourth in the 1,600, and Brooke Schwan was fourth in the high jump.
