DARLENE CARLYLE, Obituary

LINCOLN Darlene M. Carlyle, 64, of Lincoln, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at a Great Falls hospital of heart failure.

Private services were held.

Carlyle, nee Darlene Thompson, was born in Spokane, Wash. on Aug. 3, 1936. She attended schools there.

She married Roger Carlyle on June 27, 1964 in Spokane.

They lived in various locations, including Havre, Great Falls and Tacoma, Wash. She was credit bureau manager at Columbus Hospital Credit Union in Great Falls and a loan officer at Bear Paw Credit Union in Havre. The Carlyles moved to Lincoln in 1999.

Carlyle was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, past president of the Eagles Auxiliary and secretary of the Lincoln Senior Center.

She enjoyed playing dominoes, cards and other games, doing puzzles and watching movies. She was an active volunteer in the community and learned to drive at 63.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Carlyle of Lincoln; daughters, Lori Simonsen of Great Falls and Tammie Carlyle-Chin of Kent, Wash.; sons, Michael Carlyle of North Charleston, S.C., Jerry Carlyle of Anaconda and Larry Carlyle of Salt Lake City; sisters, Donna Bravo and Linda Porter of Spokane; brother, Floyd Johnson of Pinehurst, N.C.; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Senior Citizens Center.

O'Connor Funeral Home of Great Falls handled cremation and arrangements.
