Linda Patrick and Debbie Baker of Havre's Crazy Quilters quilting supply store have coordinated the "Shop Hop along the Whoop-up Trail," which is slated for this weekend.
Beginning Friday, eight area quilt shops will be participating in the promotion. Each store will be offering extended hours and special snacks and prizes.
Stores along the Hi-Line and Great Falls taking part in the Shop Hop are The Quilt-a-way, Silver Thimble, Big Sky Quilts, The Quilting Hand, Bless My Buttons, Quilt with Class, Creative Needle and Crazy Quilters.
Beginning Friday, shoppers can go to any participating store to pick up their "passport," which will be stamped by store employees upon visiting. Anyone visiting all eight stores with their passport will be eligible for a prize at the end of the three-day event.
Patrick said that she and Baker created the event to promote area quilt shops, while celebrating local heritage along the "Whoop-up trail." Patrick said that she plans on making the Shop Hop an annual event.
