JESSE RAND, Obituary

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Jesse E. Rand, 80, died in Grand Junction from heart failure Tuesday, May 22, 2001.

Graveside services and burial took place at the Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita, Colo. with the Rev. Craig Johnson officiating.

Rand was born July 10, 1920 in Alberta, Canada. He joined the United States Naval Reserve in 1943.

He married Fern Boyer in Havre in 1949. In Havre, they ran Fern's Fotos, a photography studio owned by his late wife. In 1956, they moved to Great Falls and bought Titter Studio. In 1972, they purchased Deck's Western Motel on 10th Avenue South in Great Falls. In 1975, they moved to Lake 5 and in the late 1980s, they retired to Arizona. They moved to Grand Junction in August 1997.

She died in 1998. He remarried.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite King of Grand Junction; son, Jon Rand of Grand Junction; daughters, Trudy Shultz of Bullhead City, Ariz. and Sydney Gienty of Tumwater, Wash.; brother, Millard Rand of Thousand Palms, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
