CASPER, Wyo. Havre native Troy Solomon continued his surge up the bareback riding standings at the College National Finals Rodeo, moving up to sixth overall.
Solomon, a member of the Montana State University-Bozeman team, had a third-go score of 69.5 to improve his placing 16 spots since Tuesday. He also earned 30 points for the Bobcats, who are 15th in the overall team standings with 145 points.
Solomon has 200.5 points after three rounds, well behind Fort Scott C.C.'s Clint Evers, who leads the competition comfortably with 231.5 points.
Solomon has an outside shot at second place overall, but he'll need some help. Josh Cole of Northeast Texas C.C. is currently second with 217 points, and he is followed by Tarleton State's Jason Maddox (208.5).
