MABEL JOHNSON, Obituary

GILDFORD Mabel C. Johnson, 82, Gildford, died Sunday, June 24, 2001 at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Havre. Burial services will follow at the South Gildford Cemetery.

Johnson was born Nov. 22, 1918 to Marius And Clara (Twedt) Hanson at the family farm south of Gildford. She attended the country school south of Gildford and graduated from Gildford High School.

She went to college at Kinman Business College in Washington and worked for Boeing upon graduation.

She moved home and married Lloyd Walter Johnson on Sept. 23, 1946. They farmed south of Gildford.

Johnson was a member of the Havre Eagles Auxiliary and Kremlin Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed family, friends, the farm, sports and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Johnson, on Oct. 2, 1953; son, Lyle Johnson, on June 10, 1979; brothers, Bernard, Hans and Finn Hanson; sister, Martha Listou.

Survivors include her sons, Lowell Johnson of Gildford and Merlin Johnson of Chinook; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Kremlin Lutheran Church.
