Mary P. Sterrett, 83, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001 at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. Burial is to follow at the Highland Cemetery.
Sterrett was born on a homestead west of Jordan on March 16, 1918 to Dan and Alice (Sanderson) Williams. She attended school at Dore, N.D. She worked at a hospital and rest home in Fairview.
She married Howard Sterrett at Cowgill, Mo. and the couple farmed in the Havre area. She was a cook at the Up-Up-Caf and was a checker at the Safeway Store in Havre.
Sterrett's hobbies included gardening, sewing, visiting and enjoying coffee with her friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Sterrett; one son, Jerry Sterrett; two sisters, and one granddaughter.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Sterrett of Havre and Bruce Sterrett of Great Falls; sisters, Virginia Nay of Sidney and Betty Baker of Oregon; brother, Dave Williams of Dore, N.D.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
