EVELYN POSTLETHWAITE, Obituary

MISSOULA Evelyn Postlethwaite, 80, died on Monday, June 25, 2001 at a Missoula rest home of natural causes.

Graveside services were held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Missoula on June 28.

Postlethwaite was born Aug. 5, 1920 to William and Della Bilger in Chinook. She graduated from Chinook High School in 1939.

She married Henry Schmidt on June 8, 1939.

She worked at three beauty shops in Chinook and Great Falls before leaving and traveling with her husband on construction jobs. They lived on a farm near Charlo for several years before moving to Missoula in 1949.

They farmed in the Three Mile area in 1960. In 1965, they moved back to Missoula, where they both worked for the Intermountain mill. They operated a senior citizen trailer court for many years.

Her husband, Henry, died in 1968 and she married John "Jack" Postlethwaite in 1969. They sold the trailer court and built a home in the Target Range.

Postlethwaite was fond of flowers and sold many.

She was a member of Esther Rebekah Lodge #5, Senior Citizens and the Welcoma Club, and was Mrs. Santa Claus for many years. She volunteered for numerous projects over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Schmidt; sons, Roy Russell and Ronald Schmidt; parents; brothers, Paul and Leo Bilger; sister, Doris Hebbelman.

Survivors include her husband, John "Jack" Postlethwaite; sons, Donald and Dale Schmidt; sisters, Edith Edwards of Moses Lake, Wash. and Lois Zinn of Havre.
