Support Havres Day of Caring

By HDN Editorial Board

The United Way is providing an opportunity Friday for the community to help support its efforts, and we enourage everyone to give a helping hand.

The third annual Day of Caring will focus on the North Havre Community Food Bank, with volunteers working to repair and improve the building. Work will include stripping old paint, repainting and landscaping.

Hill County United Way director Bob Rice is encouraging the entire community to come and help.

The Day of Caring is an opportunity for people to volunteer to improve community resources. Prior activities have included working on the Salvation Army buildings and the Girl Scout House. While each of the 18 agencies sponsored by the United Way was asked to provide someone to help and United Way Board members also were asked to participate, Rice said more people getting involved will help the efforts.

We urge everyone to stop by the food bank and lend a hand, just as the food bank lends a hand to those in need in the community.

The work starts at 8 a.m., and food and beverages will be provided. Volunteers can work all day, or as much time as they can spare.
