BIG SANDY Joe Wavrick, 90, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at a Big Sandy medical center from natural causes.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Alice Nash Memorial Cemetery at the Lone Tree Bench. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon at Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
Wavrick was born July 2, 1911 in Carbonada, Wash., to Steve and Kristina (Lackey) Wavrick, Sr. He attended school at Kabo School on the Ragland Bench.
Wavrick worked on farms and ranches in Montana and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Kristina Wavrick, Sr.; brothers, Robert, Bob, Paul and Steve, Jr.; sisters, Olga and Erma.
Survivors include his brother, John Wavrick, of Jamestown, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.
