Ingemund Stenorsen Hoisath, 71, died Aug. 28, 2001, at a Big Sandy medical center.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Big Sandy Church of God. Cremation has taken place. His ashes will be scattered at a later date in the Bear Paw Mountains where he loved to picnic.

He was born April 3, 1930, to Ingemund and Betty Cunneen Hoisath in Lewiston, Idaho. As a result of meningitis when he was one, he experienced severe disabilities for the remainder of his life. He lived in institutions for people with developmental disabilities in Idaho and Montana from 1937 to 1992. He then moved to a group home in Big Sandy. He was hospitalized with pneumonia during the last week of his life.

Hoisath is survived by his sisters, Anne Crabb and Ivorah Thomsen, both of Idaho; guardian, Barry Van Wagner of Billings; his advocates, Ellen, Kelly, Jacob and Hunter Lanchbury of Big Sandy.
