WILLIAM BECK, Obituary

HOGELAND William V. Beck, 71, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2011, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Hogeland American Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Chinook. The family will hold a private burial at a later date.

Beck was born July 23, 1930, in Havre to Otto and Mary Beck. He attended schools in Hogeland and graduated from Hogeland High School in 1948. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean Conflict.

Beck worked on farms in the Gildford area, was a mechanic for Killon-Moore Farm Equipment in Great Falls, and worked airport construction in California.

He was a member of the VFW in Havre, Havre Eagles, Hogeland American Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Church in Havre.

Beck enjoyed playing cards, fishing and golfing.

He is survived by five sisters, Eleanor Struck and Lorraine Cox, both of Great Falls, Florence Hamilton of Hogeland, Gladys Morris of Baker, Marjorie Cole of Moreno Valley, Calif.; special friend, Pat Haynes of Havre; numerous nieces and nephews.
