Led by freshman recruit Toni Bickford, the Montana State University-Northern Skylights golf team snagged third in their first tournament of the season at the Montana Tech Invitational held at the Butte Country Club Sept. 10 and 11.
Bickford former class AA standout of Butte High, all-state player as a senior and third place finisher in the 2001 Womens' State Amateur tournament in Whitefish grabbed 10th place in the Tech tournament with a score of 257.
"(Bickford) was my big recruit coming into the season," said Skylights' coach Chris Handley.
MSU-N finished third with a score of 1104. University of Montana-Western placed second with 1083, and Rocky Mountain College placed six golfers in the top ten and finished in first with a score of 985.
