MARY LUCKE, Obituary

MOSES LAKE, Wash. Mary Evelyn Lucke, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at a Moses Lake hospital.

Holy rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church led by Monsignor Martin O. Skehan. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with Monsignor Martin O. Skehan, and Father John Morse, co-celebrants.

Mary was born on April 8, 1925, in Havre to Finley and Rosella (Faber) Ross. She grew up in Havre and graduated from Havre High School.

Mary was married to Neal Lucke on Jan. 11, 1947, in Havre, where they continued to live until moving to Moses Lake in April 1956. She received her bachelor's degree from Central Washington University and continued her graduate studies at Gonzaga University. She taught at Moses Lake High School.

Mary was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and had been the organist of the church for 20 years. She was a member of the Moses Lake Library Council and the Library Board. She had participated in the Volunteer Chore Service.

Mary is survived by her husband, Neal Lucke of Moses Lake; sons, Thomas Lucke and David Lucke, both of Spokane, Wash.; daughters, Mary Jean Davis of Colbert, Wash., and Margaret Gibbs of Herndon, Va.; sister, Barbara Vermillion of Spokane; seven grandchildren.
