Absentee ballots are available at the Clerk and Recorder's Office in the Hill County Courthouse.
People wishing to vote absentee for the Nov. 6 Havre general election may do so by requesting an absentee ballot at the Clerk and Recorder's Office, voting in person at the office in advance of the election, or by making a request in person to have an absentee ballot sent to them.
Each person must request and sign for their own absentee ballot. An elector can designate another person to pick up their ballot, but the person requesting the ballot must sign the request. An elector wanting to have a ballot sent to them must sign for their own ballot and designate an address to send it to or a person who will pick it up.
Absentee balloting will close at noon on Nov. 5, at which time the ballots will be delivered to the polling places for the election on Nov. 6.
Absentee ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. on Nov. 6. The Clerk and Recorder's Office urges everyone to allow plenty of time for requesting, receiving and returning the ballot to ensure it arrives before the deadline.
Written requests for the ballots should be sent to Hill County Clerk and Recorder, 315 Fourth St., Havre MT 59501.
