Eleanore Rachel Jess, 79, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 9, 2001, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Alfred Ebel officiating. Burial of cremated
remains to follow at Highland Cemetery.
Eleanore was born Sept. 4, 1922, to Carl and Rose Rachel "Sha" Kastet, at Rothsay, Minn. Her family moved to Evansville, Minn., where she attended school. On June 7, 1949, Eleanore married Donald Joseph Jess at Minneapolis. In 1955, they moved to Havre for his career.
Eleanore was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Disabled American Veterans' Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Kastet; husband, Donald Jess in 1996; brother, Curtis Kastet; sisters, Mayvice Anderson and Hazel Balken.
Survivors include her mother, Rose Rachel Kastet, 99, of Fergus Falls, Minn.; children, Ronald Kastet of New Jersey, Joseph L. Jess of Iowa; James L. Jess, Washington, and Jacqueline L. Hanson, Jean. L. Robertson and Joan L. Binder, all of Havre; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
