Havre Midget team defeats Frontier team

The following are the results from Havre Youth Hockey games played this last weekend:

The Bozeman Freeze traveled to town to take on the Bullhook Bottoms/Short Stop Squirts in two games Saturday morning, winning both by scores of 9-1 and 8-3. Mason Sheppard scored the lone goal for the Havre team in the first game. Adam Briese guarded the goal.

In the second game, Mason Sheppard added another unassisted goal. Adam Briese also scored once and assisted a score for Shane Kemmer. Goalie Cameron Schilling had 26 saves in the effort.

The next games for this team are this Friday through Sunday at the Havre Ice Dome as part of the Squirt Winter Thunder Tourney.

The Bullhook Bottoms/Short Stop Squirts also faced Consul East on Nov. 18 at the Havre Ice Dome, falling 14-5. Shane Kemmer scored three goals in the game, two assisted by Mason Sheppard and one by Beau Briese. Mason Sheppard and Beau Briese also added one unassisted goal each. Tyler Ellis saved 20 attempts as goalie.

The Havre Ice Hawks/Squirt "B" Team ventured to Great Falls last Saturday only to get shut out. Great Falls defeated Havre 7-0. Alex Sinclair was the goalie for the Havre team, which is sponsored by Independence Bank. The Squirt "B" Team will also compete in the Winter Thunder Tourney this upcoming weekend.

The Havre Midget Team traveled to Frontier, Canada, Sunday to take on the Frontier Canadians. The Midget team defeated the Frontier Canadians 4-2 against a very tough home team. Garrett Drake, Levi Briese, Cody McLain and Mark Benjamin each scored goals in the win. Drake's goal was assisted by Cody McLain, Briese's by Jason Johnstone and Cody McLain's by Andy Meyers. Benjamin's goal was unassisted. Eric McLain was the goalie for the Havre team. The Midget team's next game is Saturday in Bozeman.
