Despite being down by one after the first quarter, the Havre blue team rebounded to come away with an easy 74-39 win over the white team.
The blue team, comprised mostly of the varsity players for this year's Ponies, used the sharp three-point shooting of Corey Brothers and strong play in the key from Kevin Harada and Titus Pedraza to pull away from the white team. Brothers finished with 15 points, while Harada and Pedraza each finished with 12. Dan Wirtzberger also added 10 points for the blue team.
The white team got off to a strong start, led by Steve Heberly's five points in the first quarter and four each by Ryan Lusin and Eric Ward, but faltered, only scoring seven points in the second quarter to find themselves down by 10 at the half.
After a quick break, the blue team came out and continued to dominate, scoring 19 points, six by Harada, in the third. Blue scored 22 more points in the final quarter, backed by six each from Wirtzberger and Pedraza, to run away with the win.
Heberly was the leading scorer with 10 points for the white team. Ward added eight and Jake Gauer seven.
The Ponies varsity team is in action next weekend, hosting the Tip-Off Tournament. Havre's first game is 8:30 Friday night.
