The ninth annual Cabin Fever Institute in January will offer classes on topics that apply to office, home, health and future.
The Montana State University Extension Service offices in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Toole counties, and the Extended University at MSU-Northern all cooperate to present classes Jan. 2-4 and Jan. 7-11.
Most classes are on the campus of MSU-Northern in Havre.
The topics are arranged into eight groups, including: In the Office, For Your Health, In Your Spare Time, In the Shop, On the Farm, In the Home, All the Rest and In the Future. Topics were chosen from suggestions received at the end of last year's program and throughout the year.
In the "On the Farm" series, ag producers can choose between
classes in range management, cropping issues, Milk River water issues, weed management, field mapping with geographic information system software, horse care and management, and others. The "In the Shop" series includes classes on welding, diesel engines, auto restoration and other topics.
Last year, about 600 individuals attended classes, said Jennifer Wells, Hill County Extension agent.
