FWP holds a poster contest

This year's Montana State Parks poster contest theme is "Montana State Parks A Symbol of Freedom, Inspiration and Hope."

The deadline for entries is April 5. The contest is open only to fifth-grade students.

"We thought that this year it would be appropriate for the poster contest theme to reflect our renewed awareness of how precious our way of life is," said Debbie Cheek, state Parks Division field administrator. "For Montanans, that way of life is nearly synonymous with the great outdoors and the natural features, history and beauty that

our state parks preserve."

The first place winner will receive a $150 savings bond, second place will receive a $100 bond and third place will receive a $50 bond. All finalists will receive T-shirts with the winning entry printed on them.

Contest details are available by calling Fish, Wildlife and Parks at 406-444-4701, by writing to FWP Parks Division, 1420 E. Sixth Ave., Helena, MT 59620 or checking out FWP's Web site at fwp.state.mt.us/parks.
