PeeWees take third in Havre Invite

The following are the results from the TownHouse Invitational PeeWee Tournament held in Havre Friday through Sunday:

GAME 1

Billings Bulls 3, Bozeman Stingers 2

Billings scorers and assists: Mark Newpower, assisted by Kyle Upton; Bobby Donaldson, assisted by Mark Newpower; John Davenhayer, assisted by Jacob Todd.

Bozeman scorers and assists: Both goals were scored by Ryan Langley. Jarad Dick had the assist in the first period. Langley's goal in the second was unassisted.

Goalies and saves: Billings Ian Frank with 21 saves. Bozeman Colin Brandyk-McClain with 24 saves.

GAME 2

Billings Bulls 3, Havre Syntech Ice Hawks 4

Billings scorers and assists: Kyle Upton, assisted by John Miller and Jacob Todd; Mark Newpower, assisted by Chase Brown and Jason Laird; Danny Link, assisted by John Bolin and John Davenhauer.

Bozeman scorers and assists: Ryan Langley scored all three goals unassisted.

Gallatin scorers and assists: Kameron Simkins, assisted by Avery Weaver and Chris Smith.

The last goal was scored in the third period with 11 seconds left in the game, causing the only loss for the Freeze, who sent their A team against all the B teams.

Goalies and saves: Gallatin Miles Wahrer with 13 stops. Billings Ian Frank with 17 stops.

Goalies and saves: Havre Michael Erickson with 36 stops. Bozeman Colin Brondyk with 23 stops.

GAME 8 Championship game

Gallatin scorers and assists: Kameron Simpkins, unassisted; Zac Lubin, unassisted; Avery Weaver, assisted by Paul Herzog; Colton Gehring, assisted by Aaron Leys; Steven Balaz, assisted by Aaron Leys; Kameron Simpkins, assisted by Avery Weaver.

Goalies and saves: Gallatin Miles Wahrer with 20 stops. Billings Ian Frank with 34 stops.

The following is the final standings for the tournament:

The Shortstop/Bullhook Bottoms Squirts team was also on the road Saturday and Sunday, traveling to Bozeman.

The Squirts lost their first game to the Bozeman Freeze 12-1. Shane Kemmer and Adam Briese combined for the lone Havre goal.

Later Saturday afternoon, the Squirts took the sting out of the Bozeman Stingers, winning 8-2. Ryan Armstrong had two unassisted goals, Beau Briese had three unassisted goals and Mason Sheppard added one unassisted goal. Adam Briese scored once, assistedby Shane Kemmer. Kemmer followed with a goal of his own, assisted by Ryan Armstrong.

Sunday morning also showed success for the Havre team, defeating the Sting 10-4. Adam Briese scored four goals, one unassisted, one assisted by Ryan Armstrong and two assisted by Shane Kemmer. Armstrong and Kemmer combined for four goals. Kemmer assisting both of Armstrong's and Armstrong assisting one of Kemmer's. Kemmer's other goal was unassisted. Mason Sheppard and Beau Briese also combined for two goals. Sheppard scoring one with Briese assisting and Briese scoring one with Sheppard assisting.

The Havre Bantam Ice Hawks team made short work of the Missoula Bruins in two games at the Glacier Ice Rink Saturday and Sunday, taking both games by a combined score of 15-4.

The team, sponsored by Koefod Insurance, won the first game 3-1. Josh Strissel led with two goals and one assist, while Tyson Anderson added one goal and one assist.

Mark Larson had 32 saves as goalie.

The same two teams met on Sunday as Havre crushed the Bruins 12-3. Zack Musson and Josh Strissel each scored twice in the first period as Havre took an early lead. Josh Morse also had a goal in the first period. Andy Hanson scored twice in the second and Morse scored once. Strissel also scored another goal, for three on the game and the hat trick. Ben Erickson scored twice in the third period and Tyson Anderson added the final exclamation point with one goal.

Erickson had two assists and Morse, Hanson, Scott Ladenburg and Shiloh Barrett each added one.

Mark Larson saved eight shots as goalie.

Due to the Havre PeeWee hockey tournament held in Havre last weekend, the Ice Hawks Midget team was once again forced on the road.

Saturday and Sunday the Ice Hawks took on Butte and won both games.

Havre won the first game 5-1. Goals were scored by Cody McLain, assisted by Garrett Drake; Drake, assisted by McLain; J.R. Morse, goal unassisted; Brett Patrick, assisted by Jordon Patterson and an unassisted goal by Levi Briese.

The Ice Hawks' second win came a bit closer at 3-2. Jason Johnstone, Mark Benjamin and Brett Patrick each scored goals in the game, while J.R. Morse and Jason Johnstone racked up assists. Benjamin's goal was unassisted.

Eric McLain guarded the net for Havre on the weekend.

The Ice Hawks are in action again this weekend against Missoula at home. Game times are Friday night at 7:30 and Saturday morning at 9.
