The Havre Jaycees held their annual 2001 Christmas lighting judging contest on Monday. They traveled throughout Hill County to view Christmas lights.
The winners received a painted wooden snowman to put in their yard to let everyone know they've won and have donated their cash prize to a charity of their choice.
First place honors went to Bill and Becky Blake at 1025 11th St. in Havre. They will receive $100 to donate to the charity of their choice and a traveling plaque with their names engraved on it.
Second place honors went to Jake and Trudy Meyer at 2 Saddle Butte in Havre. They will receive $75 to donate to the charity of their choice.
Third place honors went to Elmer "Bud" Werbelow of Kremlin. He will receive $50 to donate to the charity of his choice.
Due to the overwhelming holiday spirit and a couple of close races, the Jaycees decided to add three honorable mentions. They are Bob and Kathy Doney at 836 15th St. in Havre, David and Lana Herman at 104 19th St. in Havre, and Swede and Linda Malley at 700 11th St. in Havre.
