ILENE MORD

ZURICH Ilene Anna (Buhmann) Mord, 68, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000 at a Havre hospital due to cancer.

Grave side services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Turner Cemetery, with burial there.

Mord was born May 10, 1932 in Glasgow to Lawrence and Ruth (Sprague) Buhmann. She lived there until 1937 when the family relocated to Zurich upon completion of the Fort Peck Dam. She received her elementary education in Zurich and graduated from Chinook High School in 1951.

Mord went to beauty college in Great Falls and then moved to Havre and worked as a beautician. She subsequently met Elmer Mord and they were married in Havre on Oct. 6, 1956.

The Mords lived in Zurich until 1973 when they moved to Butte and he went to work for the Berkeley Pit. They moved to Valier later and then back to Zurich.

Mord enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and took great pleasure in her flowers and her yard. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Mord of Zurich; her daughter, LuAnn Brabson of Chinook; sons, Ken Mord of Havre, Richard Mord of White Sulphur Springs, Mike Mord of Chinook, Cory Mord of Gonvick, Minn., Todd Mord of Chinook; her parents, Lawrence and Ruth Buhmann of Chinook; brothers, Robert Buhmann of Zurich, Gene Buhmann of Cascade; sister, Nancy Norberg of Ogden, Utah; 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the Bear Paw Hospice in Havre or Gift of Life in Great Falls.
