ELMER MORSETTE

ROCKY BOY Elmer F. Morsette, 65, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001 at a Great Falls hospital due to complications of kidney failure.

Wake services began Sunday morning at the home of Elmer and Agnes Morsette at Rocky Boy. Cremation will take place Monday and burial will be held in the spring at Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Morsette was born Aug. 8, 1935 to Joseph and Ida (Gardipee) Morsette at their home in Rocky Boy. He attended schools in rocky Boy and in Pierre, S.D.

He married Agnes Duran Aug. 8, 1958 at Rocky Boy.

Morsette worked as a carpenter for the Chippewa Cree Tribe at Rocky Boy. His last years he worked for himself at Village Tire, a tire shop that he owned and operated in his yard.

Morsette loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and tree thinning. He enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Morsette; sister, Jeanie Morsette; two sons, Frank Morsette and Elmer Morsette, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Morsette of Rocky Boy; sons, Victor Morsette of Weizer, Idaho, Steve Morsette of Rocky Boy, Henry Duran of Havre; daughter, Ida Morsette of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, Richard Morsette and Jim Morsette, both of Rocky Boy, Victor Morsette of Nashville, Tenn., Danny Morsette of Skykomish, Wash.; sisters, Dorris Gomez of Texas, Delene Wells of Rocky Boy, Elma (Cohoe) Morsette of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
