LEONARD FABER
Leonard Faber, 91, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
A prayer vigil will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial is to follow at Highland Cemetery.
Faber was born July 26, 1909 to Nick and Margaret (Moliter) Faber at Havre. He attended Faber School south of Havre, St. Jude Catholic School, and Havre High School.
Faber was a Hill County Commissioner for two terms and a self-employed rancher until his retirement in 2000.
On Feb. 11, 1933, Faber married Rose E. Redwing at the Redwing ranch near Havre.
Faber's hobbies included his family, cattle, wood stove and television. He was a member Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department, Knights of Columbus, a past president of the North Central Montana Stock Growers Association, on the board of directors for Triangle Telephone and an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Faber was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose Faber; sisters, Rosella Ross, Tracy Charpentier and Margaret Murphy; brothers, Ted Faber and Paul Faber.
Survivors include his daughters, Lorna Springer of Big Sandy and Sharon Bellar of Flagstaff, Ariz.; son, Nick Faber of Cleveland; sister, Mae White of Yakama, Wash.; brother, Joe Faber of Forest Lake, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a person's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
