MINERVA NACE
TURNER Minerva Nace, 79, died Jan. 12, 2001, at the family home northwest of Turner due to natural causes.
Vigil services are today at 7 p.m. in the Big Flat Saint Thomas Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Big Flat Saint Thomas Catholic Church with burial at Wing Cemetery.
Nace was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada to Arthur and Rose (Spense) Wilcox on March 23, 1921. She was raised in the Chinook area and graduated from Chinook High School.
She married Ralph Nace on Nov. 28, 1942 in Great Falls. She did bookkeeping for the U&I Sugar Factory at Chinook and worked with her husband at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle during the winter months when they were not farming at Turner. She had been active in the Nace Ranch since 1945. She was an avid bird watcher, coin collector, loved windmills and doing bookkeeping.
Nace was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and son, William "Bill" Nace.
Survivors include her daughter, Eloise "Sis" Nace of Billings; sisters, Cora Musgrove of Zurich, Betty Matoon of Great Falls, Avis Jamieson of Chinook; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
