The Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team wasn't caught looking ahead to a big conference matchup Saturday and instead took care of business at-hand last night.
Lana Quintyne scored 20 points on 9 of 11 shooting in just 19 minutes to help No. 20 Northern cruise to a 102-61 win over Montana Tech last night in a Frontier Conference game.
Quintyne, who was left out of the starting lineup for disciplinary reasons, was not the only Skylight on top of her game offensively.
Abby Hjorth, who finished with 18 points, and Anna Fabatz, who scored 15, each made 7 of 10 attempts from the floor.
Hjorth also had eight rebounds six offensive for Northern, which outscored the Orediggers 56-24 in the second half.
Northern's defense, which forced 21 turnovers, was exceptional in the second half. Montana Tech made just 6 of 29 attempts (20.7 percent) from the floor after halftime.
Jennifer Young made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for the Skylights, who outscored Montana Tech 27-3 from beyond the three-point line.
The Skylights will host 16th-ranked Western Montana on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Northern Gym.
