STEVEN PAUL "GRUB" GUEVARA
Steven Paul "Grub" Guevara, 45, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 of natural causes in his Havre home. Cremation has taken place.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at St. Jude's Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial of cremated remains with a private family service will be at a later date.
Guevara was born in St. Albans, Vt. to Jose and Mary Patricia (Maynard) Guevara on Sept. 29, 1955. The family moved several times with Jose's career by moving from Vermont to Spain, to New York, and finally settling in Havre in 1970. Steven graduated from Havre High School.
Guevara worked for Hi-Line Drilling for over 20 years and was recently employed by Jim DeVries. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and sports. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and a John Wayne trivia collector. He was a loyal and trusted friend who saw the best in everyone.
Survivors include his sisters, Elena Guevara of Havre, Elisa Westelin of Westminster, Calif., Myra Due of Laurel, and Nancy Abel of Miles City; and four nephews.
