The Havre community should once again be commended for it's unstoppable efforts to help it's fellow man. The Community Appreciation Ball held at the Vet's Club on Saturday only proved what so many of us know: Havre, It's The People!
Throughout the course of a hectic and stressful week, it becomes easy to forget that there are truly caring people all around us. We, at the Havre Daily News, encourage everyone to remember the good deeds that so many times go unnoticed in our community.
The nine people who were nominated for this year's Community Appreciation Award make up only a small percentage of the hundreds of people who put others first each day by volunteering and donating their time. From the Food Bank, to the Soup Kitchen, to the United Way, to countless other charitable organizations, Havre proves that when someone is in need, there is always someone willing to lend a hand.
Local volunteers spend countless hours working to improve the lives of people in our area. Many work behind the scenes to keep local activities like Festival Days and The Great Northern Fair running smoothly. Clubs, schools, churches and organizations all pull together to raise money and food for those in need. The Adopt-A-Highway and Havre Pride programs help to keep the Hi-Line clean and pleasant to visit. Local businesses are always willing to donate money, goods, and time to charities.
Everywhere you look in Havre, someone is working to help keep our area a great place to be. We, at the Havre Daily News, salute the many community members who help keep our town going 365 days a year.
