Council approves power-pole easement

The Montana Power Company received an easement from the City Council on Monday to install power poles on the water drainage dike area near the old Kmart building on the east end of town. The easement was approved by the council unanimously.

Also discussed at last night's meeting:

Minutes from the January 16 council meeting were approved.

Mayor Leonard read correspondence stating that the City would be receiving back $47,745 of the MMIA Worker's Compensation dividend.

Housing Program Request Project 181 was approved by the council in the amount of $4,900.

The Safety Committee reported on it's February 1 meeting.

The Finance Committee reported on it's meeting, which took place at 7:30 that evening. The committee suggested that the Triangle Communications lease draft be sent to Triangle for review. No motions were made.

n The Police and Fire Committee reported on their meeting with the

Sands Foundation, and announced another meeting for Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

The Ordinance Committee set a meeting for Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. MSU-Northern Chancellor Capdeville, who was scheduled to appear before the council, was unable to attend. He is scheduled to attend the next regular meeting, on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m.
