Montana State University-Northern Chancellor Alex Capdeville came before the city council on Monday to briefly discuss his plans for the future of the institution.
Capdeville told the council that he plans to refocus attention on Northern and the role it plays in the Havre and Hi-Line communities. He said that future plans include rebuilding student life and activities at the college.
Also discussed at last night's meeting:
Minutes from the Feb. 20 council meeting were approved.
Resolution 3342, a resolution adopting a budget in the CTEP Ice Facility Landscaping Fund of the City of Havre, was approved by the council.
A drawdown request for closing funds for the Duck Inn project was approved.
CTEP project specific general and maintenance agreements regarding the Second Avenue and First Street sidewalk were approved individually by the council.
A draft of a supplemental working agreement for the construction at the Water Treatment Plant was put into the Sewer and Water Committee for further discussion before being presented to the council.
The Park and Recreation Committee reported on its 7:30 meeting. A motion was made at this time to approve the recommendation presented by Havre Youth Baseball at last month's city council meeting to close off the pathway south of Legion Field. The motion was approved.
The Police and Fire Committee reported on its meeting. A motion was made at this time to approve an agreement with the SANDS foundation. The motion was approved.
The Finance Committee reported that it approved two budget transfers at the 7 p.m. meeting. The committee also met with members of Triangle Telephone and approved a site agreement contract. A motion was made to bring the site agreement contract before the council for approval; the contract was approved.
The Street and Sidewalk Committee reported on further discussion concerning the Leeds Subdivision. No motions were made by the committee at this time.
The Water and Sewer Committee scheduled a meeting for March 19 at 7 p.m.
The Ordinance Committee called for a meeting on March 19 at 7:30.
February's claims and manual warrants were approved by the council.

All motions were approved unanimously by the council. The next city council meeting is scheduled for March 19 at 8 p.m. at City Hall.
