LORETTA KIRKEDAHL
Loretta E. Kirkedahl, 78, Havre, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001, at a Great Falls hospital from heart and kidney failure.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church in Havre.
Kirkedahl was born Loretta Else Nov. 30, 1922 in Dickey, N.D. She was educated in Dickey.
She married Robert Brown in 1942 in Dickey. He died in 1971. She married Oscar Kirkedahl in Havre in 1973. They divorced in 1976.
Kirkedahl worked as a waitress and cook, was a custodian at Northern Montana College, and was desk clerk at the Park Hotel in Havre. She moved to Great Falls two months ago for health care.
Kirkedahl was a member of the VFW, Senior Center and Van Orsdel United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, gardening, crocheting, baking cookies and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Brown; brothers, Oscar, Lyle, Raymond, Freeman and William Else; stepbrother, Harold; stepsister, Leota; a grandson in 1978.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Bunton of Missoula and Betty Gittens of Great Falls; son, Roy Brown of Blaine, Minn.; sisters, Alice Cameron of Hamburg, Ark. and LaVerne Olson of Oaks, N.D.; brother, George Else of Fargo, N.D.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to North Central Senior Citizens Center or the dialysis unit at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls.
Croxford and Sons funeral Home of Great Falls is handling arrangements and cremation.
