CLARENCE STRATTON
NASHUA Clarence Stratton, 67, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at a Glasgow hospital of cancer.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Stratton was born Dec. 12, 1933 in Plentywood to Irene Stratton and Sam Stratton and graduated from Opheim High School.
He worked on construction of the Air force Base at Glasgow, farmed in the Shelby area and helped build missile silos. He also worked for Heberly Engineering for many years, retiring in 1984.
He married Darlene Riggin on Nov. 26, 1988 in Nashua and lived there since.
Stratton enjoyed fishing, collecting precision die-cast model cars and was a dedicated Yankees fan.
Survivors include a son, Dannie Stratton of Havre; daughter, Sheri Smith of Havre; stepchildren, Darla Smith and Nancy Yager of Helena, Marc Riggin of East Helena and Jodi Martin of Vida; brothers, Glen Stratton of Kalispell, Sandy Stratton and Britt Stratton of Columbia Falls and Louie Stratton of Scobey; sisters, Jean Stahl of Glasgow, June Chapman of Redstone, Virginia Hellickson of Casa Grande, Ariz. and Elaine Byers of Priest River, Idaho; two grandchildren, and 10 stepgrandchildren.
Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
