Montana State University-Northern women's basketball coach Kevin Emerick announced his team has successfully recruited Brettney Vermandel, a two-time all-conference player from Class AA's Billings Senior.
Vermandel led the Broncs is field goal percentage last season at 42.3 percent, and she averaged nine points, seven rebounds, three assists and just over two steals a game.
The Skylights, who finished fifth in the nation in free-throw percentage (71.8) this past season, will also be able to take advantage of Vermandel's knack for getting to the charity stripe. She led Billings Senior in free throw attempts with 121 in 23 games.
Vermandel is the second Billings Senior to join Emerick's program in the past two years, joining Skylight freshman Jenny Balgua.
