This Sunday, May 13, is Mother's Day, a day when mothers around the nation are honored simply for being "Mom".
Mothers play such an important role in the lives of their children. From the moment a baby is born, there seems to be no greater relationship than that of a mother and her child. Most people can attribute many of the values and morals they carry into their adult life to their mother.
Mother's Day is a time to do something special for your mom, to let her know that she is appreciated. From caring for you as a baby, to listening to your adult problems, it seems that a mother never stops offering unconditional love to her children, even long after they're grown.
We at the Havre Daily News encourage everyone to honor mothers everywhere on Sunday. There are many ways to show mom that you appreciate her on this special day, it could be a simple gesture like calling her just to tell her you care, or buying her flowers or a special gift. Local flower and gift shops tend to see a lot of business during Mother's Day week, which proves that many people continue to honor the celebration of Mother's Day.
Fathers may want to plan something special for the mother of their children on this day, as well. And don't forget grandmothers or mothers-in-law, Mother's Day is a time to show your appreciation to all of the women who make up our families. Be sure take a little extra time to let mom know just how much she means to you on Mother's Day and always.
