Kent Gilge of the Havre Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) office in Havre said he wants to remind area fishermen that Ross Reservoir in Blaine County is closed to fishing for the season.
Gilge said the reservoir normally opens with the creek fishing season this Saturday this year but is closed for this season.
FWP poisoned the reservoir last year to remove unwanted nuisance fish, and Gilge said they want to give the newly stocked fish an extra season to grow before they open it to game fishing.
FWP personnel said they want to thank fishermen in advance for their patience and understanding in the closure. The reservoir is scheduled to be reopened for fishing for the 2002 season.
FWP and the Don Ross family, which owns the reservoir, issued a statement last week announcing the closure of the reservoir.
