HALSTEAD, Kan. Peter D. Friesen, 88, died at his home in Halstead, Kan. on Saturday, May 19, 2001.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with Roanna Kooy and Shari Connelly officiating. Burial will be at Halstead Cemetery.
Friesen was born Sept. 20, 1912 in Sunny Slope, Alberta, Canada to Gerhard and Anne (Doerksen) Friesen.
He married Beatrice V. Garrett on Oct. 18, 1931 at Havre.
A retired farmer, Friesen moved to Halstead about a year ago. He was a member of the Sixth Avenue Christian Church in Havre.
Friesen was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Abe, George, David, Henry, John, Cornelius, Paul and Jacob Friesen; sisters, Helen and Cornelia Friesen.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Friesen; sons, James A. Friesen of Halstead and Harold W. Friesen of Mountain View, Calif.; sisters, Sarah Kiethcart of Great Falls, Anna Madsen of Havre and Marie Evans of Augusta; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
