Have a safe, happy summer

Our View

By HDN Editorial Board

Memorial Day, celebrated yesterday, is traditionally viewed as the start of the summer holiday season. We at The Havre Daily News want to wish everyone a safe and happy summer, whether staying home or traveling.

This is also the week the last schools in the area are finishing the school year, so there will be kids out and about starting the next few days.

Congratulations to the Havre High seniors who graduated Sunday, and good luck on the semester exams today and tomorrow for the rest of the high school students.

Everyone needs to be careful, with lots of kids with more free time around. We urge the kids to be careful, watch for vehicles when they are out in their neighborhoods and on the streets, and, hopefully, stay out of trouble.

And, of course, the adults need to be a little more aware of things with the kids out. Please keep an eye out for more people on the sidewalks and on the streets, and be ready for a few more drivers who may not have that much experience yet.

Anyone who plans to travel this summer, we wish you well and hope you enjoy your trips. We urge you to be careful getting things ready to go and once you are on your way.

The summer season gives a chance to enjoy the world. It seems like the very time of the year urges everyone to take things a little easier slow down a bit whenever possible and try to have a good time.

We urge everyone to take advantage of the opportunities they have this summer and to make it the best summer ever. May everyone have a happy, responsible and safe summer.
