Havre will host more than 40 youth basketball teams featuring players in grades 7-12 in Big Sky State Games Regional play June 2-3.
Boys in grades 11-12 will play at Montana State University-Northern beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Ninth- and 10th-grade boys will compete at Havre Central Junior High at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
Boys playing in the boys' seventh- and eighth-grade division will begin play at Havre High School on both Saturday and Sunday. The fifth- and sixth-grade boys will play at Havre High at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Girls in grades 11-12 will play at Havre High beginning at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Participants in the girls' ninth- and 10th-grade division will play at Havre Middle School starting at 9 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Competition for the girls' seventh- and eighth-grade division is slated for 10 a.m. on Saturday at Havre High. The girls' fifth- and sixth-grade division will be held at Havre Middle School on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Qualifiers from each division will advance to the State Games finals in Billings, July 20-22. Other regional tournaments will be held in Billings, Bozeman, Glendive and Great Falls.
The public is encouraged to attend the Havre tournament, which is directed by Havre basketball coach Dennis Murphy. Daily admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students ages 7-18. Children under the age of six will be admitted free.
