Thompson hurls complete game

to carry Comets to 8-2 triumph

GREAT FALLS Tyler Thompson pitched seven innings to lead the Havre Comets to an 8-2 victory over the Great Falls Stallions in cool and windy conditions Saturday.

Thompson allowed seven hits and struck out 12 in his complete-game effort.

The Comets were led by Garrett Drake's three singles, two RBI and one run scored.

Also for Havre, Daine Solomon went 2-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored, and Bobby Bergren also went 2-4 with two singles, one run scored and one RBI.

Tyson Roe and Cory Junck added to the Comet barrage with one single each. Junck was also walked once and scored one run, and Roe was hit by a pitch and drove in one run.

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was called off due to rain.
