Strauser top team roper at Stampede

WOLF POINT Havre's Scot Strauser and Dodson's Spider Ramone joined forces to place first in team roping during Saturday's performance at the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede this past weekend.

Strauser's and Ramone's time of 6.9 seconds was six-tenths better than that of Sand Coulee's Brent Davis and Wolf Creek's Jell Steinbach.

Harlem's Jim Cole teamed with Sam Bird of Cut Bank to finish second in team roping during the first performance.

Also during first-day competition, Aaron Niederegger of Harlem was third in bull riding with a score of 71, and Havre's Jeff Solomon was third in steer wrestling with a time of 5.9 seconds.

Harlem's Kevin Keller and Box Elder's Jack Nystrom each tied for third in saddle bronc riding during Saturday's performance with a score of 72.
