Toni Hagener will be the third speaker in the Clack Museum lecture series at 7 p.m. today in the foyer of the Heritage Building.
Appointed curator of the H. Earl Clack Museum in 1964, when the museum was located at the fairgrounds, she did extensive research on this area so that she could incorporate the information into the museum.
She was involved in the compilation of material for the area history book, "Grit, Guts and Gusto," and has given many tours and talks relating to the history and development of the area and its points of interest.
Hagener traveled with her Northern Montana College professor husbands classes to Africa, China and Australia with a focus on the natural resources and development of those countries.
She has continued to travel in the Mediterranean, Middle East, Mexico and South America seeking unusual experiences and information on the geology, paleontology and archaeology as well as history of those countries.
Her talk, "Ancient Cities, Tombs and Temples," is not on the history of the Havre area, but rather on some of the similarities, comparisons and disparities she has observed in her travels.
