Solomon second at Stampede

STANFORD Denali Solomon of Havre picked up a second-place finish in barrel racing last Sunday at the C.M. Russell Stampede PRCA rodeo.

Solomon, who placed second behind Charlotte Berry of Cut Bank, finished with a time of 17.71 and received $419.33.

Scott Strauser, also of Havre, teaming with Spider Ramone of Dodson, added a fourth-place finish in team roping. Strauser and Ramone finished with a time of 7.0 seconds and were awarded $114 apiece.

In the unofficial Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit standings through July 23, Jack Nystrom of Box Elder moved to third in saddle bronc riding with $2,132. Kevin Keller of Harlem sits eighth in the event with $836.

Solomon moved to fifth in the barrel racing standings with $1,490.

Troy Solomon of Havre sits fourth in bareback riding with $884.

The tandem of Strauser and Ramone sit tied for fifth and sixth individually in team roping with $1,468.

The team of Jim Cole of Harlem and Cut Bank's Sam Bird are tied for 10th and 11th individually in team roping with $1,110.

Jeff Solomon, also from Havre, is currently placed 12th in steer wrestling with $621.
