MORRIS BROCKIE, Obituary

HAYS Morris M. "Brickie" Brockie Sr., 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at a Fort Belknap hospital of natural causes.

A wake and rosary is 7 p.m. today at St. Paul's Mission Recreation Center in Hays. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's, with burial with military honors to follow in the St. Paul's Mission Cemetery.

Brockie served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a decorated veteran. He was a rancher and a former Bureau of Indian Affairs road worker.

His wife, Joanne, died in 1996.

Survivors include his daughters, Shannon Hanley and Mauna-Loa Brockie of Hays; sons, Mike Brockie, Donnie Brockie, John Brockie, Jim Brockie, Monte Brockie and Shane LaValley, all of Hays; sisters, Mary Hays of Frazer, Ann Helgeson of Peoples Creek and Rose Connor of Fort Belknap; brother, Henry Brockie of Hays; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
