IRVIN BECK, Obituary

ANCHORAGE, Alaska Irvin George Beck, 70, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at an Anchorage medical center of natural causes.

Visitation was Monday at Anchorage with his ashes to be scattered in the Talkeetna River.

Beck was born March 6, 1931, in Havre. He was a 1949 graduate of Hogeland High School and attended Northern Montana College in Havre. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.

Beck moved to Alaska in 1959 and married Colleen "Sandy" Teter in 1960. He was employed as an electronics technician at Elmendorf Air Force Base for 17 years and Clear Air Force Station for 11 years. He retired from civil service in 1982 and from Clear AFB in 2001.

He married Audrey Hawley on March 6, 1987.

Beck was a member of the American Legion Post 29.

He enjoyed camping and fishing.

Beck was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen; son, Stanley; stepdaughter, Vicki; father, Adolph.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Beck; daughter, Carrie Day; mother, Hilda Beck of Havre; brothers, Ronald Beck and Wallace Beck; sisters, Dorothy Anderson, Beatrice Kane, Marilyn Herman and Karen Caplis; stepchildren, Cindy, Kathy, Connie, Johnny, Bonnie, Beth, Terence and Blythe; 15 stepgrandchildren; nine great-stepgrandchildren.
