TOPPENISH, Wash. Lois Marie Hobbs Coyner, 75, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, in Toppenish, Wash.
Visitation was today at Colonial Funeral Home in Toppenish. Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Terrace Heights memorial Park in Yakima. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Toppenish with a reception at Faith Lutheran Church in Toppenish to follow.
Coyner was born Oct. 19, 1925, to Alfred and Ida (Severson) Hobbs in Chinook. She graduated from Chinook High School and was employed by Montana Power Company.
She married Harry E. "Pat" Coyner on July 1, 1945.
They operated the Chinok Dray and Transfer until 1963, when they purchased City Dray and Transfer in Havre. They moved to Toppenish, Wash., in June 1967. She continued her bookkeeping career at Pabisz Motors. She retired Nov. 13, 1992.
Coyner, a lifelong Lutheran, was baptized, confirmed and married in the American Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Havre and Faith Lutheran Church in Toppenish, and served as a pianist for many years in Chinook and Toppenish. She held various offices in the Lutheran Women's organization and taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Ina Strain.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lou Coyner of Toppenish, and LaRayne Eileen Coyner Rowland of Hillsboro, Ore.; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; sisters, Delores Maetche and Dayle Mundy; brother-in-law, Al Coyner; two sisters-in-law, Loretta and Katherine Coyner; aunt, Myrtle Wilson of Chinook; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Colonial Funeral Home of Toppenish is handling arrangements.
